A Family Tradition, Grown in Manistee

Farming is more than a business for us — it’s our heritage. Andy and Heather were raised just miles apart, both in families known for their strawberry patches, produce fields and orchards. Generations before us planted the seeds we now have the honor of carrying forward.

OUR VALUES

Quality. Care. Reliability.

We grow with intention — offering quality, disease-free plants, genuine care, and the kind of reliability you can only get from a family farm rooted in generations of honest work.

Quality
We believe you deserve plants that start strong and stay strong. From the Miller family’s produce fields to the Shively orchard blocks, we’ve spent generations learning how healthy soil, clean stock, and intentional growing practices create better, sweeter, more dependable berries. Every strawberry plant we sell is disease-free, field-tested, and grown to thrive — because quality isn’t a feature here, it’s our standard.

Care
Our farm is built on care: care for the land, care for our plants, and care for the people we grow for. Andy puts in long days between his full-time job and the fields, and Heather balances motherhood and farm management with grit and heart — all so we can offer plants our family is proud of. We plant, tend, harvest, and ship with the same attention we give our own crops, because your garden deserves that.

Reliability
When you order from us, you’re getting more than strawberry plants — you’re getting a promise. A promise that we’ll ship on schedule, answer your questions honestly, and stay fully stocked for the busy planting season. Whether you're a home gardener ordering a dozen plants or a small farm planning by the acre, we’re committed to making your experience simple, steady, and dependable.

    Dream it.

From the Miller family’s produce fields and strawberry rows to the Shively family’s produce fields and orchard blocks, both sides of our family have shaped Manistee’s growing history. These fields taught us the value of soil, hard work, and caring for the land — lessons we’re now passing on to our kids.

Behind the Scenes…

At the heart of Shively Farms is Andy Shively — the steady, hardworking backbone of both the farm and the family behind it. Long before the sun rises, Andy is already putting in the hours at his day job, and long after it sets, he’s still in the fields building the legacy he hopes to pass on to his boys. He carries the work ethic of generations before him, balancing the demands of farming with the commitment of being a present husband and father.

Whether he’s tending strawberry rows, solving problems on the fly, or teaching the next generation what it means to care for the land, Andy’s dedication is what keeps Shively Farms growing strong. His quiet grit, long hours, and unwavering heart are the foundation of everything the Shively family is building here in Manistee County.
